What are the fees?
When your item sells, there are 3 different fees assessed before your check is issued:
- eBay Fees. eBay charges a fee that is based on a combination of the starting bid, final selling price and special features. For details on the eBay fees please click here.
- PayPal Fees. When the buyer pays for the item, most of the time they will be using PayPal. PayPal charges a fee to process the transfer of money (charging the buyers credit card, transferring the money from the buyers bank account, etc.). The PayPal fee is 2.9% plus $.30.
- Terrapin Treasures Commission. We don't make money until you make money. We charge a commission based on the selling price of the item (before eBay and PayPal are deducted). Our commission is 25% for items that sell for up to $500, 20% for items that sell between $501 and $1,000 and the commission fee is determined on a case by case basis for items that sell for over $1,000.

What if my item doesn't sell?
If your item does not sell the first time that it is posted, eBay offers the chance to post the item again without additional fees (if it sells the second time). Terrapin Treasures will wait one week in between postings. If, after two postings, your item still does not sell, Terrapin Treasures will return the item to you or donate it to a local charity/thrift store.
What is my item worth?
Every item has a different value. eBay provides the largest audience for finding the buyer who is interested in your item. Terrapin Treasures will research each item before posting. Factors that influence the selling price can include the condition of the item, how many of the same items are listed on eBay at the same time, and many more factors that we have no control over. Our first preference is to get the highest amount of money for your item; however, if there are 3 other identical items listed that are not selling, we may list your item for a couple dollars less in order to attract a buyer. A sold item is better than an unsold item!!
What will you sell?
Terrapin Treasures will accept items that have a value of at least $20.
We will not accept used clothing, illegal items, items that are not permitted to be listed on eBay (click here for a list provided by eBay).
Terrapin Treasures is not licensed to sell automobiles.
We reserve the right to refuse any item.
When will I get my money?
A normal eBay listing is for 7 days. Once your item has sold, we will ship it to the winning bidder. The winning bidder has 3 days (from when they receive the item) to return the item if they are unhappy with it. We respect all of our buyers and want to give them that time. Once the 3 days has passed, we will issue your check. With all of these factors, expect it to take one month from the time that we pick up your items until you get your check.
My item has been listed for 4 days, why hasn't anyone bid on it?
eBay is an auction. The excitement in an auction is the last-minute bidding. A good majority of bidding activity occurs in the last 24 hours that an item is listed.
